Facing My First Lines
I turned 30 a few weeks ago and I've started to notice that my frown lines and smile lines are starting to etch themselves into my face.
I will not have it.
Prolonging Botox for as long as possible is the name of the game, and I've recruited the gua sha for help.
One Tool to Save Us All
I bought a gua sha ages ago and honestly never used it. One of my life skills is buying random stuff and letting them collect dust for years… until suddenly it becomes my prized possession.
After watching 20 or so YouTube tutorials, I took the bits and pieces that work for me. My routine is probably not the most optimal or perfect—but it's what fits into my lifestyle and helps me stay consistent.
Consistency and discipline is the for motto for this new decade of life.
The goal is simply to take action.
I sometimes find myself thinking "If I can't be perfect, why bother?". That mindset will literally keep me stuck in the same place—or put me in a worse one.
Doing anything to prevent my wrinkles is better than just watching them get deeper.
Where I Learned My Tips
LANSHIN is my favorite YouTube channel for gua sha tips. Her videos are really informative if you're interested in Chinese medicine.
The best tips I picked up from her videos are simple:
Use a warm tool and a light hand.
In Conclusion
I’ve only just started this practice, so I’m not expecting dramatic changes. Honestly, that’s the point.
I’m not trying to change my face.
I’m just trying to maintain it.
Welp, we'll see how it goes.
If you’ve tried gua sha before, I’m curious — did you notice any difference?
